Use this technique to create a fashionable, antique-looking, distressed wooden picture frame.
TIP: For an even more convincing look, first paint separate pieces of wood and then make them up into frames.

Materials
- A wooden picture frame
- Plascon Interior Woodstain Imbuia (W1)
- Plascon Floor Varnish Suede (PFW2)
- Plascon Double Velvet: Ella’s Eyes (B1-A2-1)
- Plascon Velvaglo: White (VLO1)
- A 25 mm brush
- A long-handled mixing brush or sash tool no. 10
- Vaseline
- Paint stripper
- A metal scraper
- A hammer
- A screwdriver

Method

Step 1
Stain the wooden frame with Interior Woodstain Imbuia. Seal it with Floor Varnish Suede, and allow it to dry.

Step 2
Using the 25 mm brush, apply the Double Velvet, and allow it to dry. Apply Vaseline thinly to the areas where you want the paint to lift, using a long-handled mixing brush or sash tool no. 10. Apply two coats of Velvaglo White and leave it to dry completely.

Step 3
Randomly bash and dent the paintwork using the edge of the scraper and the hammer. A screwdriver and paint stripper may also be used. |
